Instagram video quality: what you can expect

Instagram re-encodes uploads, so the resolution you download is the resolution Instagram stored — not the resolution of the creator's camera original. Reels are typically delivered at 1080x1920, while older feed videos may top out at 720p.

SaveVideoss only ever lists the formats returned for the link you submitted. If a post is not available in Full HD, no 1080p option will appear, because promising a resolution that does not exist helps nobody.

Why can't I download an Instagram video?

When a download fails, the cause is almost always one of a handful of things. Work through this list before trying again.

The account is private, so the Reel or video is not publicly available.
The post was deleted, or the Story expired after its 24-hour window.
You pasted a profile link instead of a link to a specific Reel, video or Story.
The link was cut off when it was copied, so it no longer resolves.
Instagram changed its media delivery for that post type.

Re-copy the link from Instagram's own Share menu, confirm the post opens in a logged-out browser tab, and try once more.
